A heartfelt plea to my friends, family, and readers
Hello, Everyone!
I am about to release the final book in my Before Series and I have a very expensive Ad Campaign set up to promote all six books now that the series is finally complete. I have worked on these stories in some form or fashion for the past ten years. I have learned so much from the process, and I plan to carry that knowledge forward in my next venture. (More on that in a minute)
I have a huge favor to ask. If you have read any of these books and enjoyed them, could you please leave some nice reviews on Amazon, especially on book one? The reviews on the first book are typically how a reader will judge the entire series. If you didn’t read any of them, or they weren’t your cup of tea, I totally understand. There are many books out there that didn’t trip my trigger either. (How you all likin’ the numerous clichés?)
Anyway, being an author is a real struggle, both in learning the craft, and having your books seen in a gigantic ocean of other books. Good reviews can be the difference in a book/series making it—or drowning to never be heard from again. And in case any of you avid readers don’t know, it takes over fifteen 5 Star reviews to undo the damage just a single 1 Star causes. And the damage from 2 and 3 Stars isn’t much easier to overcome. This is unfair, but it’s what Amazon does. There is nothing we authors can do about how they give low reviews more weight other than to plead to those people who might have liked what we wrote, which is clearly what I am doing now. (Insert sad pigeon eyes here.)
As for my next venture, I plan to take all I learned from creating this series and apply it to my new work under a pen name. Why a pen name, you might ask? Because at this time I don’t plan to write any more Fantasy or Science Fiction books. It’s too hard to play in a playground full of content I don’t write into my own stories. I have multiple series outlined and partially written in the Sweet and Clean Romance category, and a few ready to be finished in the Clean Romantic Suspense category.
Contemporary romance was never the direction I thought I would go, but I’ve had fun writing these stories as well. 🙂
Thank you all for your support! I really appreciate it!
Lisa
P.S. You can leave the reviews here, and the pigeons pictured are my hubby’s friends. They have an understanding: if he feeds them, they will come, stay, and poop on everything! But the pigeons are cute, so I tolerate their presence.
