Do you ever wake up and wonder where you are?
No, I haven’t been drinking. But our travel plans have changed so much lately that I sometimes forget what state we’re in. Or where we’re headed to next.
In my last post I mentioned that we would be staying at three state parks and one military base in Arizona, but due to poor cell coverage—I’m talking almost nonexistent—we had to cancel our state park stays and extend our time at Davis-Monthon AFB here in Tucson. Which is okay because it’s a great base and I’m really enjoying the desert climate. But it has thrown me off my groove. And now we are wondering about our future plans because of the crazy weather everyone is experiencing. But this is the joy of being mobile. We can revamp our plans whenever needed. Even if it causes me to forget what planet I’m on. Oh, wait. My writing does that!
Anyway, this got me thinking of some other things I love about being mobile.
1) I don’t have to do my hair or makeup anymore. The people we see on our short stays will never see me again. And even if we do return, they won’t remember who I am. It’s awesome and saves me hours of work. Unless I need to look presentable for my hubby, then I might put some effort into not appearing as if I’m a vagabond.
2) The spiders and ants don’t bother us as much if we relocate often. Every time we move it disrupts their evil takeover-the-camper plan. Take that you little monsters!
3) We get to see new places. Which will always be the greatest part of traveling. (I post pictures of our travels on Instagram if you’d like to see them, like the pictures on this post, which I took at the Reid Park Zoo during their Asian Lantern Festival here in Tucson. My FB Author Page is still on pause, but I’m close to having book two done, so that will change soon. I’ll keep you posted!)
I hope you all are surviving what this magnificent world throws at you too, the weather in particular for those of you in CO and WY. And I hope you all have some fun travel plans scheduled for this summer. I’d love to hear about them.

It’s sure know wonder you do, you have been all over in such a short time. I’m just wondering if you get use to it like we get use to living in our houses for so long?
We’ve been so unsettled and moving so much since we sold our house Jan. 4th that it’s hard for me to remember were we are, sometimes. I don’t like it one bit. I think we are here to stay now, I never thought we would be living in Woodburn! only 15 miles from where I grew up.
So it kind of sounds like your in limbo now, about were your going next? OR is beautiful this time of year!
Hi, Terrie!
We get used to it because our house travels with us, so that part is normal. I just sometimes lose track of where we are because we move so much. But we do love it, so it’s all good. 🙂 I’m sorry you guys have been so unsettled. The type of moving you have been doing is exhausting, but I’m glad you found a good place to settle. And it’s cool it’s so close to where you grew up. Enjoy the memories!
We are going to stay in Arizona until the weather warms up everywhere else, then we are headed to New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, then Wyoming for our normal summer run. I hope things calm down for you soon! Take care, and thanks for commenting!
