What did I get myself into?!
Oh, the things I have to do as a full-time RVer!
No, the spiders aren’t real, but I bet they caught your attention. 😉
I thought for this post I would share some things my husband and I have to do now because of this lifestyle change. Some are fun. Some are not. I’ll let you be the judge of which is which. I hope you enjoy them.
1) I sing Homer Simpson’s Spider Pig, Spider Pig every night before bed (although, I changed it to Spider Check, Spider Check) as I inspect the sheets for spiders. Yes, I’ve found a few.
2) I watch football games on my 4 inch phone instead of a 55 inch, HD T.V. And anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE my football. UP-DATE: I don’t watch football, or TV of any kind, anymore. And to my surprise, I don’t miss it. I have more time to write.
Okay, I’m putting a 🙁 face here because no one has to guess what category that one belongs in.
3) I (we) have to drive to our mailbox, which right now is 35 minutes away. Needless to say, we only do this once a week.
4) I (we) play the what will the water taste like at this lake game. So far we’re 1 for 1. First lake’s camp water tasted like dirt (even after it went through 3 filters). Second lake’s camp water tasted like pure heaven. We’re still at the second lake. 🙂
5) I (we) play the battle of the no-see-ums. If we open the door after dusk these annoying, tiny flyers come in and party like rock stars. So if for any reason we have to go out at night we have to turn off all the lights, then make a mad dash to open and shut the door before they realize it’s been opened. I’m surprised neither one of us have fallen down the stairs while doing this yet.
And last for this post:
6) I (we) play the name the lakes game. (Have you figured out we like to turn everything into a game?) First lake: Roadrunner Ranch, due to the roadrunners we befriended during our stay there. Second lake: Armadillo Villa, due to, you guessed it, all the armadillos. And there’re everywhere! Now my husband and I find both of them cute and fun to watch, but we especially like to watch the armadillos. And yes, we do recognize what kind of damage they cause, but for this post, we’ll pretend they’re innocent. 😉
Thank you for reading! I hope I put a smile on your face…after the spider picture, of course.
Lisa
P.S. Why did the armadillo cross the road?…
Bugs. It’s all about the bugs. I think that’s why we like them so much. They eat the bugs…spiders included!
