We’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of ???
He he! I bet I made you sing, didn’t I? 🙂
Anyway, here’s an update on our winter travels. We left Texas on Oct. 11th for Albuquerque, NM. During our two weeks there, we attended the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which was amazing! I highly recommend you add this to your bucket list if it’s not already on it.
Now we are at Homolovi State Park in Winslow, AZ, but only for a week. We have to be at our next stop by Nov. 1st. (I’ll get to that special place in a minute.) But for my take so far: New Mexico is really pretty, not as dry and deserted as I’d envisioned, and Arizona is flat, dry, and sparse. Still pretty in its own way, but my imagination had the two states flipped. However, I know not to judge a state by just one area, so I’m looking forward to exploring different parts of both NM and AZ on our return trip this spring. And I’m having fun lizard hunting, so it’s a win win!
Okay, so what is the special place I keep referring to?
Las Vegas, NV, where I’ll be attending my first writers’ conference. I’m super excited! And I’m excited to go back to Vegas too. Why, you ask, considering we don’t drink, gamble, or party? Because of the buffets, of course! (You’d be surprised how much I can gobble down!) And because Vegas sparkles, and I love sparkles. It’s also were my husband and I got married—The Chapel of Love, to be exact—on Feb. 14th, 1997. Yep, you read that right, Valentine’s Day in Vegas. Can anyone say, “Pass the cheese, please?” 🙂
Although, technically we won’t be staying in Vegas. We’ll be staying at Nellis, AFB, which is 20 miles from Vegas. For three months, I might add! Crazy, I know.
Now for those of you who would like to see more pictures than I can add to these posts (if you don’t already) follow me on Instagram and Facebook. (Although, my Facebook Author’s Page and Readers Group will be quiet for a while so I can finish books 2 and 3 in my Before Series.)
I hope you have a wonderful winter! Let me know if you have any fun things planned.
Blessings!
Lisa
